What is the history of the hotel? When was it established?

The original Hotel Panorama opened in 1970 on the occasion of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships held at Štrbské Pleso. It was designed in the brutalist architectural style by architect Zdeněk Řihák and has been one of the dominant landmarks of Štrbské Pleso ever since. In 2008 the hotel was temporarily closed for an extensive renovation, in 2010 the complete refurbishment took place – preserving the iconic shape of the tower section while expanding the lower complex – and in 2011 we reopened with modernized rooms, higher service quality, an upgraded gastronomy concept and an almost fully operational wellness centre. Today we offer modern, comfortable accommodation with first-class services.

The name 'Panorama' reflects the hotel's exceptional location at an altitude of 1,300 m above sea level and the unique panoramic views it offers of both the High and Low Tatras. Thanks to its distinctive high-rise silhouette, the hotel is a visible landmark of Štrbské Pleso from several kilometres away. Our top-floor rooms and apartments are called Panorama precisely because they offer unforgettable views of the Tatra scenery.

Check-in is from 2:00 PM, check-out is until 10:00 AM. The hotel reception is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

At check-in you need to present a valid identification document – an ID card is sufficient for citizens of Slovakia and the EU, while guests from non-EU countries need a passport. The data is required under the current legislation regarding guest registration and local tax.

Yes, we offer several stay packages, for example the Early Booking package with a 20% discount when booking in advance, the 'Bring the Kids to the Tatras' package (with attraction tickets included), and the Romantic Stay for Two with a tasting dinner. We offer a wide range of rooms and apartments: Standard Room without balcony (25 m²), Standard Room with balcony (30 m²), Plus Room with Tatra view (30 m²), Panorama Room on the top (12th) floor with balcony (37 m²), Deluxe Room, Standard Apartment without and with balcony (45 m²), Plus Apartment with view (60 m²), Deluxe Panorama Apartment with views on 3 sides (45 m²), and the most exclusive Premium GRANDE Apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (70 m²). Standard amenities include: bathroom (bath or shower), king size bed, towels and linen, WiFi, safe, hairdryer, complimentary minibar, coffee machine, bathrobe, toiletries, and free parking including garage.

Yes, on request we are happy to provide a baby cot free of charge, fully prepared in your room. A baby bathtub and potty are also available for loan from the hotel reception upon request.

The number of extra beds depends on the room type. Most of our rooms and apartments can accommodate 1 to 2 extra beds. The extra bed fee is €25 per night (the same price for an adult or a child). We will be happy to confirm the specific capacity at the time of booking.

A good night's sleep is essential for a good stay in the mountains. That's why we have equipped all rooms at the Panorama Hotel with pocket mattresses with a minimum height of 20 cm. Thanks to independently working springs, the mattress adapts to every curve of your body, distributes weight evenly and relieves a strained spine after a day spent on the slopes or hiking trails.
